Using Brushes to Clean Engines

Brushes are used to clean many different areas of an engine including valve guides, head ports, cylinder bores, crankshaft tunnels and oil gallery. Most of the brushes used are soft and manufactured from a nylon type material so as not to damage critical surfaces. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes to suit the purpose.
Wire brushes are also available for porting.
Bench grinder wire brushes are also available, these can be straight wire or twist knot. The twist knot are much tougher.
Some brushes operate at low speed and others go right up to 20,000RPM
